Steps to incorporate a company in Malaysia

To successfully register and set up your company in Malaysia, there are several steps you will need to complete in accordance with the Companies Act 2016 as below:

  1. Apply to the Companies Commission of Malaysia: Provide your proposed company name, type, business details, registered address, information about directors, declaration of compliance forms, prescribed fees, and other relevant information.
  2. Approval of Company Name: Obtain approval from CCM to reserve your chosen company name.
  3. Prepare and Submit Registration Documents: Compile and submit all necessary registration documents to the Companies Commission of Malaysia.
  4. Document Signing: Ensure that all required documents are signed by directors, shareholders, and beneficial owners.
  5. Incorporation Stage with CCM: Submission of all incorporation documents to the Companies Commission of Malaysia.
  6. Issuance of Certificate of Incorporation: Upon successful completion of the process, the Companies Commission of Malaysia issues the Certificate of Incorporation.
  7. Appointment of Company Secretary: Within 30 days of business incorporation, appoint a Company Secretary.
